Henrik Wachtmeister

I am an energy researcher based in Uppsala and Stockholm, Sweden.


My research is focused on energy systems analysis, energy economics, and energy policy. I teach energy security and other energy systems courses at Uppsala University.


I received my Ph.D. in Natural Resources and Sustainable Development from the Department of Earth Sciences at Uppsala University in 2020. Besides research positions at Uppsala, I have been a guest researcher at The Swedish Institute of International Affairs, Tokyo Institute of Technology, China University of Petroleum Beijing and Stanford University.


I am currently conducting research on Europe-Russia as well as China-Russia energy relations and policy in the wake of the invasion of Ukraine.
